Potchefstroom SCC Elections 2021 - Read before Voting

1.    GENERAL VOTING INFORMATION

  • Voting starts on 03 November 2021 at 00:05 and ends on 05 November 2021 at 23:00.
  • The preliminary results of the SCC elections will be published on 08 November 2021 at 13:00.
  • The period of objections will occur from 08 – 10 November 2021, with all objections submitted to the ISEC (isec@nwu.ac.za).
  • The final results of the SCC elections will be published on 12 November 2021 at 12:00.

 

2.    CANDIDATES’ INFORMATION

  • Please ensure that you peruse the candidates’ information and decide on your choice of candidates before proceeding to the voting site.
  • The information of candidates’ eligible for election to the SCC can be viewed before voting by clicking on the portfolio tab on the left-hand side of the screen.
  • You will not have access to the candidate information once you've entered the voting site.

 

3.    CASTING YOUR VOTE

  • You can only cast one vote per SCC portfolio.
  • Should you wish to NOT cast a vote for a particular portfolio, you may select the “ABSTAIN” option.
  • You must click SUBMIT after you have completed your voting.
  • Once you have finished voting and clicked SUBMIT, you will not be able to cast your votes again.

 

4.    VOTING SITE FUNCTIONS

  • You can SAVE your voting progress whilst voting, and return at a later stage to complete your voting, however this must be done before 23:00 on 05 November 2021.
  • Should you experience technical challenges whilst voting and leave the voting site, you will be able to return to complete your voting, however this must be done before 23:00 on 05 November 2021.
  • No time limit is set when you vote, but all voting sessions still in-process at 23:00 on 05 November 2021 will submit automatically – therefore ensure that you vote timeously.
  • The voting site will automatically log-out after a period of 2 minutes should you not take any action whilst on the voting site.
  • Should you not execute a choice on a portfolio whilst voting – therefore not casting a vote for a candidate or selecting abstain, the system will record such non-action as a vote not cast.
