What I have learned about the topic:

An argumentative essay, like any other essay, is a “burger”. The only difference is, the flavour. Its format is to be respected at all times. I learned the importance of a rebuttal and what the word means. Emphasis was put on logical connectors and this helped clarify a few things. I knew the importance of using them but never put much thought into it, until now.

What I enjoyed about this lecture:

The topic that was chosen as an example of an argumentative essay. I was hoping it would turn into a debate but that did not happen. 

What I have learned about the topic:

Writing for academic purposes requires time and a lot of effort. The time the lecturer gives us, is meant to be used wisely. Each day counts.Failing to use my days wisely will work against me.

What I enjoyed about the lecture:

For the first time in my life, I enjoyed working in a group.

What I know or have read about the topic:

I have read tips on how to formalise my writing, how to use logical connectors amd how to use direct qoutations in order to prove my claims.

Topic: Processing information - using sources

 What I have learned about the topic.

I have learned how to process relevant sources by extracting main and supporting ideas, and how to understand text elements.

What I did enjoy about this lecture:

My group has a lot of members in it and having to fully communicate with each other ,during a lecture, is challenging (nothing we cannot handle though).

Comments:

Paraphrasing is still a challenge for me but I will work on improving that.

Topic: Processing and producing academic information - Finding sources

What I have learned about the topic: 

I have learned how to distinguish between different sources and why some sources are far more important than others when it comes to writing academically. I also managed to understand why and where to find appropriate sources . At the moment, I believe that referencing is not as much of a problem as it was in the beginning.

What I did or did not enjoy about this lecture:

I found it annoying when I learned that most of my fellow classmates did not prepare for the lecture and did not do their homework. It even led to the lecturer leaving the venue. It made my efforts towards preparing and doing my work seem like a waste of time .

The topic focuses mainly on sources. Through reading it, I managed to understand how to effectiveky interact with sources and how to process the information in relevant sources.

How to parapharase correctly.
