This is the last post and I have to say that indeed I learnt a lot. When I compare my knowledge when I started the module and now I can say there is a huge improvement regarding my knowledge. I learnt more about the importance of integration and its impact on overall performance of a learner. I learnt more about the necessity of having music activities. 

I realized that Lskm 221 was the module that taught more about cognitive and social development of a child which is very significant. 

What I found challenging is music aspects I am still figuring out how to do certain activities in it

Holistic development refers to the growth of one's mental ,physical and emotional capacities.The development of several components of the brain is referred to as holistic development 

Study unit 1 provides more information about the importance of Music in a learner's overall development. As well as how a learner may easily learn and understand through music. Music aids in the entire growth,abilities, and creativity of students

Music has repeating portions, just as patterns in mathematics predict and explain the unknown 

They are linked in such a way that learners can learn practically any topic in mathematics with music,including geometry and other topics. Music allows learners to successfully learn language and learn how to utilize words correctly

WHY IS PLAY IMPORTANT.

play has various advantages for the learner. It contributes to a child's cognitive  growth.

Learners in the foundation phase learn through play in a variety of disciplines such as language ,maths and other subjects. Original play,open play,traditional play are examples of several types of play that can be used in the classroom.

As a teacher when creating a play,you should keep in mind that the audience which on this case is learners,will be made up of people with variety of socio-cultural views and economic backgrounds.Making accommodations for each and every student should be a top concern in order to have successful teaching and learning process. 

Art integration is a teaching method in which students develop and exhibit understanding in a form of art.

Students are pursuing multiple learning objectives as they engage in the creative process,exploring links between art forms and other topic areas in order to get a better knowledge of cross-cutting concepts. Educators must  engage in professional learning  about art standards and how to genuinely integrate the arts to the curriculum they teach in order to implement art integration.

1.art teaching assists with the development of social skills,motor skills and other required abilities, such as risk taking,in youngsters.

2.working in the arts encourages students to build innovative problem solving abilities 

3.students' personal culture is also connected through art education

4.visual art teaches students about perspectives,balance,and color scheme,as well as all of the tools that are required in academic presentations,whether digital or visual

The most important aspects to keep in mind when planning foundation phase lessons in my opinion, are   prior knowledge, ability levels and interest levels of children, The learning preferences .

My opinion about the value of utilising arts intergration is that it is a great approach for learning in foundation phase whereby we find children who are in ages whereby they enjoy interaction and learning by doing. It is the great approach considering the fact that it helps children to be collaborative and actively engage , and for foundation phase learners to have recognition of new skills in themselves or among each other. 

My perception has definitely changed i now know most important things when planning a lesson and learnt more about this art intergration concept and its importance
