MACROECONOMICS (ECON 122)

Welcome to the wonderful world of Economics! smileylaughWe hope that you will indeed manage to find your life passion from exposure to this introductory Macroeconomics module! This module will set you on track to become an economic literate person in no time! The aim of the module is to introduce you to economics and to provide you with an insight into the functioning, composition and interdependence of the distinguishable decision-makers and sectors in the economy. 

What is Macroeconomics - Macroeconomics is the branch of economics that studies the behavior of the whole economy and what influences the economy. On a broader scale, macroeconomics attempts to measure the performance of the overall economy by looking at factors such as economic growth, unemployment, inflation, Balance of payments stability and income inequality.

Everything that you need to know is in the textbook, therefore you need to work through the prescribed chapters,

  • Attend classes for learning and for asking questions. Classes are scheduled every Mondays  and Wednesdays  at respective class venues. 
  • Use class videos to study and to help you understand the work,
  • Use the PowerPoint slides to guide your notes,
  • Completing all online quizzes and formative assessments.
  • Completing efundi quizzes/tests and individual assignment
  • There is a work plan to guide you (see study material (module information)).
