The only example available for me to draw from was the fact that I was raised in a christian household growing up. Throughout my childhood and teenage years there was always an emphasis put on upon love and sensitivity. Loving yourself and learning to love yourself as well as the very important "love thy neighbour...". This was always regarded as one of, if not the most important teachings in our househould. It really motivated and influenced me from a very younger age to already be kinder to others and myself especially. I grew up to be very headstrong in my identity and to not let others affect that.
Another very important teaching was sensitivity. Being in touch with one's emotions and allowing yourself to experience them was a very prominant teaching growing up. It definitely helped me combat toxic masculinity and embrace once again being kinder to myself. Now I'm not ashamed at all to show my emotions or to experience them.
