1. Facts about tax in Canada
-The Canada Revenue Agency stoped to mailing out paper tax forms for people to fill now that over twenty percent of Canadians are filing through the internet.
-The average tax refund this year is about $1,600
-Everyone can claim expenses. Artists can claim things like art supplies, to rental space, down to ballet shows. $1000 or 20% of net income is the most they can claim
- You have to keep your records for 6 years. The CRA doesn’t want your old receipts. Only for some audits
-Over 3,000 trees are being shredded off the ground just so people can prepare their tax forms
