The NWU is more focused on sport. It is not a bad thing but not all of us want to engage in sport during leisure time. Overseas universities has a more significant selection on recreational activities. Even though the NWU is mostly sport-based students do get fair training and opportunities to grow as athletes, they get to compete with different universities in different provinces. Thus this creates a sense of adventure when it comes to recreation. Overseas universities has the same outcomes for recreational sport. The difference between NWU and overseas universities is the fact that NWU does not avail the sport facilities to student just to participate in sports for fun, like sport becomes part of an extra responsibility. And overseas universities have a broader recreational setting. Things like outdoor adventure, wellness training centres, recreational classes. They give students an opportunity to participate for fun and experience. Recreation and leisure is more part of the daily life overseas than it is at NWU. All universities equally provides recreational activities but not all of them are experienced-based.
