Music is valuable when it comes to education. Its concepts and related experiences play a big role in subjects like life skills, mathematics and language.

LIFE SKILLS

There are a number of skills that  can be developed through music education.  Through music learners can gain confidence, music allows learners to take  on skills with courage an a high self esteem. For example, it is not so easy to perform in front of an audience, but music in education gives learners the opportunity to perform in front of classmates, the teacher and family members, boosting their confidence. Music  Since music is practical in most parts of learning it, a sense of patience is developed by learners due to having to take thongs one step at a time to be able to master or have a complete song. Creativity is one of the most important features in all aspects of life, therefore making Ingenuity one of the concepts that are life skills related meaningful to learners.  Music requires self discipline in learners, for this reason, learners are able to remain focused and goal driven, which assists them in Determination. It takes a lot of critical thinking to be able to learn notes, play musical instruments and know how to bring a song to life. 

MATHEMATICS

In as much as there are elements  such as patterns, sequence, counting  and one to one correspondence in Mathematics. Music also has corresponding elements like melody, rhythm, beat, and tempo which go hand in glove with mathematics and can help learners in their mathematics classes through incorporation.

LANGUAGE

Memorizing words through repetition when listening to music is one way to help learners strengthen their language skills, by helping in retaining words. Music in language is used to convey speech, express emotions and develop connections through rhythm, pitch and tempo.
