Hi, I hope everyone's doing fine. I've had a few rough weeks. My son became ill and I'm his primary caretaker which means I have to look after him 24/7. I'm emotionally and physically exhausted but oh well life goes on.

Within this study unit I've come to learn that musical lessons are always ones children look most forward to. It teaches us how to plan a proper music lesson as well as how suggestions on how to make it successful. Characteristics of a good lesson plan is a lesson plan that has learners activities, teachers activities, assessments, introductory phase, teaching amd learning phase and lastly conclusion phase. In these lessons learners can be taught thing different music genres, the music elements as well as the music concepts. 

Hey Everyone!

My name is Rhoide Johnson and I am from Strand, Cape Town. I am a city girl and lived in the Cape all my life. My partner and I have been together for almost 5 years and we have a lovely baby boy together. Before I fell pregnant I was working at a private school nearby where I taught classes as small as 12 learners per classroom. Teaching in such circumstances was amazing because as a teacher I could literally pay full attention to each and every learner individually.

My week has been hectic, I'm juggling being a new mom of an almost 3 month old as well as studying and having duties at home. I was only able to start the module this week. It's very late but I'll try my best to stay up to date with the work and prioritize my time right.

My passion for teaching started way back when I was in crèche and already showed signs of teaching and helping my fellow classmates who didn't know what do to. Since then that seed grew in my heart to become a teacher. I am an extrovert and love being around people. I also love music, that's why I am very confident that this module will bring much excitement or of me. Despite my love for music, while studying the module LSKM221 it'll help me become more creative when having to incorporate music within lessons for the young children. My expectation for this module is to learn new knowledge regarding the teaching of education through music. I am very excited about this module, yet nervous.
