poverty is a state or condition in which a person or community lacks the financial resources and essentials for a minimum standard of living. Poverty means that the income level from employment is so low that basic human needs cant be met. Poverty stricken people without proper housing, clean water, healthy food and medical attention.

A social problem is a situation that has a negative impact and  that affects numbers of people 

Depression is a mood disorder that can affect a persons daily life and it might be described as feeling of sadness, or anger. It is not considered as a social problem because it only affects individuals in particular and can be dealt with.

Rape is a serious problem in our country and the world, information from different countries it indicates that 35% of all woman have been sexually abused by an intimate or non-intimate partner. There is also an issue of corrective rape in our country where lesbians are raped with the aim of converting them to heterosexuality. Rape is a social issue because it affects numbers of woman and children.

In many regions, social issues increase the risk of HIV infections making it difficult to tackle the global epidemic effectively. Years back HIV/Aids was a social issue because it was affecting numbers of people, because people had no knowledge of how it is transmitted to the next person and there was no treatment for and or any methods used to prevent the spread of it, but as of today it is no longer a social issue because people had knowledge about it , they know what they should do to prevent it and to those that are already affected there is a treatment that they take.

Fast food it is a social problem, especially because meat, dairy, and eggs are the main ingredients in fast food, the exponential increase in its consumption has engendered a wide range of negative social impact, including rising rates of diet-related disease, and environmental degradation.
