Poverty is the state of being extremely poor, however there are benefits of being poor for the community as large and for an individual. The benefits of poverty for the community is that a population of poor people helps to uphold conventional norms. There are moral distancing between the community's and it's people. Each culture contributes according to their own will and there are sometimes security of social locations.

For an individual living under poverty there are so many benefits which can include them having the advantage of getting monthly stipends from the local government, getting free housing, receiving food parcel every month and free access to health care facilities. They get free education and they do not pay tax if they are earning a low income.

Structural Functionalist Orientation is whereby a society is a system of interrelated parts in a dynamic equilibrium, this means that if one part changes fast it will disrupt the entire system. In order for the society to be strong there has to be social stability and adequate socialisation as well as social integration. There are social institutions within the society that performs important functions to help ensure that there is social stability within the society. Most of social problems tend to weaken the society's stability but they do not reflect the fundamental faults in the society as it is structured. Solutions to problems takes form of gradual social reform instead of sudden rapid and far reaching change. The negative effects of social problems can also serve an important function in a society.

Feminist Orientation is known as that there are many variations of feminist theory's that exists. They all emphasizes that the society of filled with gender inequality and this is true because women are the subordinate sex in many dimensions of socio-economic life. Tradition favours male view as objective, rational and instrumental than that of female. There were proposed needs for feminist orientation to give women a voice that has been denied by science and tradition. Incorporate female values and perspectives into the research which will focus on subjective, empathetic, inclusive and this will also focus on feelings. With these being safe d this shall reject all sexism in science and research.

Depression-is a mental health problem caused by many events that led to a person being more sad and also it is a medical illness that affects am individual negatively in how they are, how they feel, how they act and how they think. In most cases it all started from nothing as small as having a minor stress about a certain thing. Depression is a social problem because it prevents many people from achieving certain goals they have set for themselves and those are the important goals but due to depressive disorders they couldn't fulfill them. The thing that makes depression a social problem is because it affects many people regardless of gender and age. A lot of people die every year because of depression and this threatens the society as they don't know how to overcome it or sometimes they lack necessary information and guide about depression. The cause behind depression is wide and a lot of people who have depression symptoms are scared to speak out or even seek help as they are afraid they will be judged which is true some people will judge them but others will want to help them. Societies expect a lot from their people and when you find yourself in a situation whereby you can't live according to their standard you end up being depressed because number one you can't express how you feel and a lot of people in societies believe they are always right and no o e should question them. This separates the society and leads to society having problems. There are many ways to help solve this social problem and one of the most effect one is by raising awareness about mental health, teach people how to handle their mental health. Open organizations that helps with people who are going through depression and also allow people to express how they feel and what they think without being labeled as ungrateful and disrespectful.

Smash and grab-this is whereby there is a robbery at a certain place and criminals smashes and grabs something from a place it can be a house or a shop. Smash and grab it is usually whereby they smash windows and take whatever they want. It is a social problem because people whom their houses, shops etc had been smashed ends up loosing many valuable things. Sometimes during the smash and grab people gets badly injured and others die at the scene. This is one of the biggest social problem because it affects the society negatively in a way that people end up being scared to live alone or even be by themselves without anyone being around, this threatens their way of living. There are many reasons as to why there are so many smash and grabs and one could be due to lack of job opportunities, poverty, and hunger. A man would do whatever it takes to feed his stomach and those of his loved ones. To them those that do smash and grab it's a win where as for those they have stolen from it's a loose. Ways in which all of this could be solved is the creation of more job opportunities so that everyone can hustle for food for their families. There could be community meetings where by they will address issues of smash and grab and how to go about should one find themselves in a situation where they get in contact with those criminals and again those who have a little too much than expected should atleast try to help those that can't afford their daily basics.

Rape-it is an act of forcing oneself to the other for intimacy or sexual intercourse without the others permission. Rape is a social problem because people get hurt a lot and go through pain they can't even explain. People who are raped think that it's their fault that they were raped and that they don't belong to a certain society. They end up feeling worthless and think they have no value and that they are unloved. What makes rape a social problem is that rape charges increase every day yet only a few people are arrested and get bail. People get scared to walk even outside their yards because they are scared of being raped and this is the worst social problem. There are no specific reasons as to why people rape and there is absolutely nothing that causes rape. A person rapes because they feel like it, there is no level of clothing or whatsoever that causes a person to rape. They always have a choice not to rape but they choose to rape. There is nothing that can be done to help solve rape as a social problem that has not yet been done all has been done but people still rape. People should be taught more about sex topic especially at a young age and be taught that a NO is a NO for both genders.

Fast food-those are the ready-made processed food that are sold at bars and restaurants and they are ready to be taken as take away or be eaten right at their place if purchase. Fast foods are a social problem because they cause ba variety of health issues. People consume a lot of fast foods that they put their health at risk and they don't even care about the effects that fast foods have on their bodies and health. Junk food poses a threat to ones body and health which leads to many unforseen sicknesses of which others are curable but others are not. People die from too much fat in their bodies for example people get cancer, hypertension, obesity, cholesterol etc. This is considered a social problem because it sometimes poses a threat to people's lifespan and shortens their days of living. People who are obese or whatsoever are vulnerable to many sicknesses. The main cause behind people consuming fast food is because they are lazy to cook and some they prefer those over home cooked meal. Ways to solve this is by educating people more on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, eating more fruits and vegetables, avoiding foods with too much salt or fat and encourage people to do as much exercise as they could as this could help their body to detox all the fats from fast foods.

HIV/AIDS- is an illness known to affect the bodies ability to fight and diseases on its own. it is a social problem because it is more likely to prevent people from living their lives the way they used to. What makes it a social problem is the fact that an individual now has to drink tablets for the rest of their lives and somehow change their routine because now they have to have time to drink their pills. People who find themselves affected with HIV/AIDS tend to have tendencies of withdrawing themselves from their societies because they feel like they now don't belong and that people will judge them because of their status. What causes HIV/AIDS to be a social problem is the divinity and discrimination that people encounters after knowing their statuses. People judge them without knowing how they contracted it. Societies always assumes that a person gets infected only by having unprotected sex and this leaves many people depressed and others ends up commiting suicide. There are several ways on how to help solve this stigma about HIV/AIDS by educating people more about other causes of HIV/AIDS so that they can stop being narrow minded. There should be campaigns that spreads awareness about the dangers of having unprotected sex with multiple partners, sharing needless, touching blood of an infected person whether you have a wound or not and also teach them to always get tested so that they can know their statuses.
