Lesson pan is known as a teachers description of lesson's path of teaching or learning and a teacher creates a daily lesson plan to facilitate class learning. The purpose of a lesson plan is to offer a specific structure to follow in each class session and it helps teachers to be more productive.

Lesson plan reflects teacher's understanding of the subject matter and the lesson that should be taught in the foundation phase. The lesson of musical pay and musical knowledge need's a teacher that has a lesson plan of what a teacher must teach first and how long will the lesson take, this kind of topics needs a teacher who know her or his students very well .  Planning a musical lesson as a teacher you must be able to know which musical instruments  and study materials that are going to be needed in order for this lesson to be a success.  After the lesson students must be able to perform in order to assess their understanding of the topic that was taught and the teacher must see the progress of the previous lesson.  While developing a lesson plan teachers ae encouraged to be inclusive at all the time. The focus must not be shifted on learners who are musically advanced, but also on the learners who require the lesson to work on their favour.

My perception regarding musical  lesson planning has changed because lesson organization, presentation, knowledge of child development and musicianship skills in singing and playing musical instruments are the mostly commonly mentioned skills. Teachers are encouraged to make lesson plan for each and every lesson so that they will be able to identify learners strength and weaknesses and come up with some ideas or strategies that will helped learners that don't understand while teaching, to understand when the teacher teaches next time.

Art integration it is known as a teaching approach in which learners construct and demonstrate understanding through art form. Art integration improves or promotes active learning experiences. Using or working with art enable learners to be creative thinkers and they are able to solve problems. Teaching while using art it sometimes  difficult as learners come across new difficult words and visualizing what you are teaching learners makes it easy for learners to understand.

- encourage speaking, listening,  and vocabulary development skills.

- clarifying ideas, thoughts and feelings by drawing and labelling. 

In this study unit we will focus on the importance of musical play in foundation phase. Music play helps learners to be self motivated. It is very crucial to teach learners to play music as it is considered very  important by many experts. learning music stimulates or excite a child's cognitive development.

LEARNING AND PLAYING MUSIC STRENGTHEN THE FOLLOWIN IN LEARNERS:

1. Social skills: making music with others helps learners to develop social skills.

2. Confidence: performing music reveal a sense of confidence and if one is confident enough he or she can perform in front of her peers, teachers e.c.t.

3. Team building: working as a team help leaners to identify their strength and weaknesses and how to support one another in a group while working together.

4. Determination: Being able to learn some difficult things like playing a musical instruments whereby learners have to learn instructions of playing an instrument  or being able to know the lyrics of a song shows that a learner can master or manage other difficult tasks.

5. Passion: Music encourage learners to express themselves by allowing them to connect with their emotions. If they love what their are doing they will do it time and time again.

We have different types of music concepts which are as follows: Pitch, Rhythm, Timbre, beat and meter , texture ,form and tempo and dynamic. Music concept can be taught through movement, songs and some other games. Music concepts are related to mathematics, life skills and language education. Exposing children to music during their childhood or at an early stage helps them to learn sounds  and meanings of words.

Life skills: over music, learners learn some life skills that they will need when their older. Music help learners to be disciplined as they learn how to play a particular instrument  and this requires time and practice in order to be able to play any kind of instrument. Music helps learners to memorize words.

Mathematics: Musical lesson can be integrated in mathematical concepts.  there are few benefits of this which are as follows: Learners will learn fractions by combing beats, mastering rhythms of songs develops the learners multiplications.

Language education: Learners learns a lot through music. Learners gain the skill of concentration and this helps learners to be able to read fluently. 

Ive learned a lot and  new interesting things from study unit 1 which was based on music and holistic development.Music can be defined as follows it is the voice or instrumental sounds or both combined to create a beauty and harmony expression.

holistic development is also known as a comprehensive learning tool or method designed to develop multiple abilities of human brain.I have noticed that it is very crusial for leranersd to experience music activities as it promotes their holistic development. 

we have different types of holistic development which are as follows:  Erikson psychological development, Vygotsky developmental theory and Piaget cognitive developmental theory.I also lerned that teaching music in foundation phase is very important as learners can express their feelings through it.
