How do music concepts and related experience relate to Life skills, Mathematics and language education

Music concepts are melody, texture, rhythm, timbre, hamorny.

When foundation phase learners engage in teaching and learning activities which include principles of play, they are able to develop holistically through engagement in authentic, meaningful activities and also when learners have to find ways to reach certain goals during play while adhering to certain strict or fluent rules (determined by themselves or the teacher), they develop the ability to think outside of the box, meaning that they can think creatively which is very important in the development of a child.

Learning music improves maths skills because, at some level, all music is math. ... Performing music, therefore, reinforces parts of the brain used when doing math. Studies even show that children who play instruments are able to complete complex mathematical problems better than peers who do not play instruments.

Holistic Development

Holistic Development in education seeks to engage all aspects of a learner including mind, bodys and spirit.

Now in Study unit 1, we learn about aboout Erikson's stages of pyschosocial development. These stages draws focus to the influence of social interaction and relationships on learning.  It also states that meaningful relationships are important for learners to feel safe, valued, supported and cared for in schools, as well as classrooms.

In Erikson’s theory of psychosocial development, foundation phase
learners are at the fourth stage of industry vs. inferiority (ages 5-11). During this stage, children
develop a sense of pride in their accomplishments and abilities through social interaction and
relationships. Therefore teachers need foster those relationships and provide or instill positive reinfocement to the learners at all times.

Vygotsky's zone of proximal development draws attention to the socio-cultural factors that
influence cognitive development and therefore emphasises the importance of social interaction
and language development. According to Vygotsky, one cannot fully understand a child’s
learning needs and developmental stage without taking their social environment as well as the
influence of social factors on a personal level into consideration. Therefore, Vygotsky’s socio￾cultural view of cognitive development emphasises the interaction between individuals and
their environments.

Lasty Music ignites all areas of child development and skills for school readiness  including intellectual, social-emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy. It helps the body and the mind work together and  learners need to have basic knowledge about music development because it allows them to focus on special musical aspects.
